WHO-Uppsala Monitoring Center (WHO-UMC) was established in 1978 in Sweden, collecting and managing Individual Case Safety Reports (ICSRs) from all over the world. WHO-UMC produces signal through periodically analysing ICSRs and shares drug safety information with report countries. For this, WHO-UMC operates specified ADR data collecting and managing system, VigiFlow, VigiSearch, VigiMine and so on. Also WHO-UMC provides international pharmacovigilance (PV) education program periodically for expanding the base of PV globally. In this paper we examined the PV activities as well as its organization of WHO-UMC. Then, we proposed the direction for further development of PV system in Korea.
